These Featured Projects have been selected from many of Astral's recently-completed and ongoing projects to provide a glimpse of the diversity of facilities Astral builds and the diversity of its clients.
World Bank Country Office, Islamabad
The World Bank in Islamabad is housed in a 2-building facility totaling about 70,000 square feet. The facility was built in 1989 and was due for major renovations as well as structural compliance to the new building code in effect since the 2005 earthquake. It is a 5-star facility with sophisticated electrical and MEP systems installed.
Astral was contracted for a complete renovation of the facility compliant for LEED certification. Essentially, the building was stripped to the basic structure, reinforced for structural compliance to the new building code as well as some new structural additions and completely new layouts, electricals, plumbing, HVAC and external works. All finishing works were to be of 5-star quality. Strict implementation of international HSE standards were also required.
The project was completed successfully and received LEED v4 Gold Certification in April 2018. This is the only Gold-Certified non-industrial building outside of Karachi!
